I am now a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Sci. and Tech. of Tsinghua University. I earned my B.S. in Computer Sci. & Tech. from Huazhong University of Sci. and Tech. in June 2004, and M.S. in Computer Sci. and Tech. from Tsinghua University in July 2007.

You can find my wiki here. There are lots of notes which may be useful for you.

Research Interests

I am now exploring issues in Distributed storage system, data Grid and, more generally, distributed systems and operating systems.
I once worked on execution management and, more generally, Grid computing and participates in the CGSP project while studying for my master's degree.

Research Projects

Corsair Storage System (2007/09-present) [ Web Site ]

Corsair is a subproject of the China National Grid Project (the 863 program).

Considering the rapid development of network, we believe that 1) online storage is an important trend of data storage due to the outstanding reliability and scalability, and 2) part of current Internet (such as campus network, intranet) is capable of supportting such application. The Corsair system is built to proof the feasibility of these believes. It provides reliable online storage and data sharing services based on the campus network. A prototype of the system has been released and deployed in Tsinghua University on 2008/12/01, and has 2239 registered users, and 75 registered communities by 2009/01/14.

CorsairFS (2008/12-present)

CorsairFS is a scalable distributed file system based on storage bricks and campus network, and will be used as a new storage backend of Corsair to solve the problems (such as administration burden, vulnerability to network failure, data hotspot etc) that Corsair currently encountered as the user and workload increases. It is designed for a huge number of users’ daily data access workload and focuses on both the system scalability and manageability. It is expected to dramatically reduce the administrative burden and simplify the constructions of Corsair-like applications.

ChinaGrid Support Platform (CGSP) (2005/04-2007/06) [ Web Site ]

A key 211 project of Chinese Ministry of Education. CGSP is one of the most influential Grid middleware in China. It is developed to simplify the construction of Grid applications in ChinaGrid. It facilitates Grid applications to seamlessly use and manage distributed, heterogeneous Grid resources by providing the infrastructure services and a set of tools.

Grid Program Environment (GPE)4CGSP (2005/09-2006/05)

GPE is an international Grid project proposed and funded by Intel Company to integrate the existing heterogeneous Grids and provide a consistent and user-friendly access interface for grid resources. GPE4CGSP is intend to use CGSP as the Grid backend of GPE.

Storage cluster simulator (2006/06-2006/09)

Design and implement the simulator for a large scale storage cluster to study the Mean Time To Data Lost (MTTDL) under some kinds of parameters (such as object size, bandwidth, etc) [ 5 ]. This work is done during my internship in Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA).
